What we do
Mentoring
We encompass the six principles of the Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa, through the recognition and implementation of the Fonofale Model of Health .
Mana Pasifika uses a strengths-based approach to youth development, with mentors building supportive and positive relationships with rangatahi to create Individualised Action Plans in order to achieve their goals.
We recognise the paramount importance of acknowledging and incorporating cultural identity and values when working with youth and their families.
Through the development and implementation of an Individualised Action Plan, the mentor will endeavour to support and motivate youth to improve their overall wellbeing and increase their attendance and engagement with their learning environment.
Care & protection
We support youth who have high and or complex needs who are in state care and need twenty-four hour care.
We know the difference the caregiver relationship makes in the lives of youth in care. We do not take on a child without a professional consultation with the young person themselves to ensure we can provide the appropriate level of support.
We believe in the positive impact of genuine care, cultural connection; a warm, family oriented environment and engagement in constructive pro-social activity alongside mentors/caregivers.
For high needs tamaiti we have a range of solutions to help them prepare to transition back to their family and community.
Youth development programs
Our core belief is that immersive programming is essential for at risk youth.
Our programming is a mix of cultural, social and sport. Our programs are typically bespoke to the young person, leveraging their personal interests and aspirations whilst building upon their cultural values.
Programs include but are not limited to Music & Dance, Sport, eSport (gaming), boxing & fitness, financial literacy and Arts and Crafts.
